Deposit

All booking applications must be accompanied by a deposit. The deposit is accepted as part payment and the balance should be paid not less than 42 days (6 weeks) before the starting date of the holiday. If the booking is made less than 42 days before the starting date of the holiday, the full amount should be paid. The deposit is normally non returnable.

Security Deposit

A £100 security deposit is requested for every booking for the Servants’ Quarters. This is refunded electronically at the end of the holiday subject to any breakages or damage.

Reservation

Reservation is subject to the accommodation being available when the deposit is received and then confirmed by us by email.

Non Payment of Full Charge

Non receipt of the full accommodation charged at the time specified above will be treated as a cancellation of reservation and the deposit will be forfeited. The booking will then be subject to the cancellation procedure outlined below where the whole cost of the holiday accommodation will become due, unless we are able to re-let for the same period at an equivalent rate.

Cancellation

Should a client wish to cancel a booking, notice should be given in writing. Provided the cancellation is received not less than 42 days before the start of the holiday, only the deposit will be forfeited. If the notice is received less than 42 days before the start of the holiday and the accommodation is re-let, only the deposit will be forfeited. Otherwise you will be liable to pay the total cost of the booking. You are strongly advised to insure against financial loss owing to cancellation of the booking. The cover can be obtained from most insurance companies at normal rates.

Arrival and Departure

Weekly holidays are booked from either Friday to Friday or Monday to Monday (any number of weeks), with short-breaks available mid-week and over the weekend. Takeover time is not before 4pm, unless by prior arrangement. Please vacate your accommodation by 10am, and leave it clean and tidy.

Maximum Number of Occupants

Unless prior authority has been received, the number of people occupying the property MUST NOT exceed the number for which beds are provided.

Pets

We welcome pets but they must be kept under proper control. They are not allowed on furniture and owners are asked to remove all traces of dog hairs etc. before leaving. We reserve the right to charge for any cleaning made necessary by your pets. Please let us know if you are bringing a pet. Dog owners are advised to keep their animals under strict control and are reminded that farmers have the right to shoot dogs worrying their sheep (thankfully never happened!).

Breakages

Any damage caused to the property or any equipment lost, damaged or broken during the occupancy should be reported and paid for.

Unsuitable Hirers

The owners have a right to refuse to hand over holiday accommodation to any person who, in their opinion, is unsuitable to take charge. In this case, money will be refunded in full.

Problems

If you have any problems during your stay, please let us know as soon as possible to allow us to deal with them quickly, and not let anything spoil your holiday.
